Why are we creating a world that no one wants?

"What a great share Ernie! ...I'm going to send out the word to all in our network! Thanks for being an active participant in 'living democracy'. I see you as a model of that trait - 'bold humility'."

Profile Information

What are the main areas of Sustainability you are interested in
What a deep and wide question...I am interested in it all, especially the 'ability' part. How can we enable ourselves to think differently and creatively about our contribution to the 'great work' of our time?
Please feel free to provide a short bio about yourself (no more than 3 paragraphs)
I grew up on an apple orchard in Washington State. We had a cat that was found up a tree. I cleverly named her 'Cutie'. My brother didn't like that decision.

I love the mystery, the world...all its variations of people, sights, sounds, smells. I love that feeling of connection and awe. I love blueberries and candle light and people that make me laugh. I love watching people do what they love...and the deep wrinkles of a well lived face.

I am thankful for my community, near and far, that make me who I am.
What is your current job (and organization) and/or where and what field are you studying?
Communications for Corrymeela, but soon transitioning to work with TIDES and 7th Generation.
What is your personal or organizational website?
www.corrymeela.org
What is one of your favorite websites in the field?
wisewomen.me.uk
What skills training would you be interested in
Conflict Mediation, Sustainable Economics, Wilderness Experience, Citizenship, Cooking
Other Skills Recomendations
Mending/Fixing Practical things

Sacred Economics

What does sustainable economics mean and might it have anything to do with 'sacred economics'? Read this recent article posted by Charles Eisenstein on Reality Sandwich and engage in the discussion. I would love to hear what 7th Generation members have to think! http://www.realitysandwich.com/sacred_economics

As a brief, he talks about our association with money as profane and calls for ' A transformation from…

The 7th Generation Project 2009 Annual Review

‘In our every deliberation, we must consider the impact of our decisions on the next seven generations.’ This Law of the Iroquois inspires the name of ‘the 7th Generation Project’, a social enterprise and networking project. 7th Generation seeks to address the question of long term social, environmental and economic sustainability through the development and implementation of the 5 core areas of its model – Awareness, Capacity, Action, Leadership, and Community.

Trick or Treat Climate Protest

Hey everyone! Read this recent press release from Friends of the Earth Belfast. They made quite the creative scene showing even monsters need a healthy planet to live on. If we don't make some serious changes, FAST, it won't just be witches screaming, 'I'm meeeeelting!!'

Do your part too, no matter what part of the world you live in, sign Friends of the Earth's INTERNATIONAL PETITION to encourage our world representatives to follow through on their word. Use your voice. Hold… Continue
