Social Marketing and Communications - Northern Ireland
£20,000-£23,000 per annum
The Big Lunch is a nationwide Eden Project initiative that encourages people to have lunch with their neighbours as a simple act of community. Over a million people have participated since launching in 2009 and the next annual Big Lunch will take place on Sunday 5th June 2011.
Looking to build on the success and challenges of the past 2 years, we are recruiting for a Supporter Marketing Executive to spearhead The Big Lunch campaign in Northern Ireland. The post holder will be responsible for developing key relationships with Northern Irish Local Government and other community stakeholders such as Housing Associations, as well as building key strategic relationships with Northern Irish NGO’s and community bodies.
This role is pivotal for the growth of The Big Lunch in Northern Ireland and demonstrable experience of building and maintaining influential relationships with housing associations, Local Authorities and community bodies is essential to the role.
As the key point of contact for The Big Lunch in Northern Ireland, the post will be very varied and will also involve dealing with enquiries from the Northern Irish public, assisting The Big Lunch PR team at events and in compiling case histories of interesting, individual Big Lunches for the media. You will need to be a confident public speaker as the post holder will also be required to deliver public workshops to promote The Big Lunch and encourage participation in the initiative.
This role will require distance working and would suit a highly organised and motivated individual who can operate remotely whilst liaising closely with the Cornwall based Project Manager and London based SME (England & Wales).
The role will be based in a partner organisation’s offices in Belfast and the post holder will be responsible for all general admin tasks of the Northern Irish Big Lunch office, including managing voluntary interns. Regular travel within Northern Ireland and to London and Cornwall will be required.
